JOB ANNOUNCEMENT: Project Manager
The National Off-Highway Vehicle Conservation Council (NOHVCC) is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has been working for nearly three decades to create a positive future for off-highway vehicle (OHV) recreation. NOHVCC, as a national body of OHV recreation enthusiasts, develops and provides a wide spectrum of programs, materials and information, or “tools”, to individuals, clubs, associations and agencies to further our vision of making OHV recreation a nationally accepted outdoor activity and to ensure quality opportunities are readily available to all who wish to participate responsibly.
NOHVCC has expanded its scope of work to include on-the-ground services to provide expertise to help create concept plans and feasibility studies, trail layout and design, and management expertise as needed to develop or maintain riding opportunities.
POSITION TYPE: Full-time, salaried.
LOCATION: Negotiable. While the NOHVCC headquarters is currently located in Great Falls, Montana, most of NOHVCC’s staff works remotely from home offices.
OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The Project Manager will work with the Executive Director to provide on-the-ground training to public land agency staff, OHV enthusiasts and other interested parties on myriad topics. This training will primarily be provided in workshop settings, and topics covered will include OHV trail management, layout, design and construction. Other workshops may focus on starting, improving or organizing OHV clubs and associations. This position may also be responsible for managing on-the-ground projects including trail design, management plans, trail assessments, etc.
REPORTS TO: Executive Director
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: (This list may not include all the duties assigned.)
Workshops: Work with Executive Director to identify opportunities for workshops, schedule dates, times and locations, disseminate information and materials to potential workshop attendees, locate meeting space and riding areas, etc. Develop expertise to deliver workshop presentations, execute field tasks and training and provide workshop content updates as needed.
Work collaboratively with land manager and local enthusiasts on trail design, management plans, trail assessments, and other projects as required.
Communications: Work with Executive Director to develop a consistent messaging strategy and execute day-to-day communications plan in concert with other NOHVCC staff.
Annual Conference: Provide support to NOHVCC staff as we jointly prepare for and execute Annual Conference.
QUALIFICATIONS:
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Involves frequent contact with staff and the public, including agencies, organizations, and volunteers across the country. Work is performed mostly in the office. Some travel is required, frequent at times. Work may be high volume at times, and will sometimes require long work days/weeks, including nights and/or weekends. Working with volunteers and enthusiasts often requires working around their job schedules.
BENEFITS INCLUDE: Paid holidays, vacation and sick leave. Paid health, dental. Matching 401 (k).
SALARY: $50,000-$60,000 per year depending on experience.
