Tariffs Update, April 22 at 11 AM PST — What We Know and How It Will Impact Powersports - MIC Symposium

President Donald Trump's announcements and changes on his tariffs policy have caused confusion and uncertainty among many powersports businesses. To help us better understand what we may expect and what some of the latest changes could mean, the Motorcycle Industry Council's Scott Schloegel will be joined by Tori Smith, a trade and tax specialist from government and public affairs advocacy firm Forbes Tate Partners, to address the powersports industry in a special MIC Symposium.

On April 8, days after President Trump announced widespread tariffs, members of the MIC, the Recreational Off-Highway Vehicle Association, and the Specialty Vehicle Institute of America gathered in Washington, D.C., for the Powersports Capitol Hill Fly-In, holding more than 95 meetings on the Hill with members of Congress and their staff. Industry experts as well as elected officials also addressed the associations' members during a breakfast briefing. On the heels of the Fly-In, President Trump changed his position on tariffs, but things continue to be fluid.

Schloegel, Senior Vice President of Government Relations for the MIC, and Smith, Senior Vice President on the Government Relations team at Forbes Tate Partners, will provide the latest tariff updates on Tuesday, April 22, at 11 am Pacific. Schloegel will also discuss what the MIC government relations team has been working on to help protect the powersports industry during this time.​
