Our federal partners at the Forest Service and the BLM are experiencing reductions in budget and staffing for recreation programs. NOHVCC is collaborating with other groups in support of outdoor recreation to see what impacts this is having on your OHV recreation opportunities and facilities. Collecting this data is extremely important as it will assist our partners in informing agency leadership about how to best allocate resources and staffing to provide the best recreational experiences on public lands. Please send your responses to the questions below to [email protected].
1. Have you encountered OHV areas that are closed due to lack of staffing and resources?
2. Have you noticed a reduction in maintenance activities on your local OHV trails due to a reduction in staffing and resources?
3. Have you had to increase your OHV volunteer activities to accommodate for a reduction in staffing and resources at the federal agencies?
4. Are you concerned that recreational OHV access will be reduced because of a reduction in staffing and resources at federal agencies, and, if so, how will this impact your upcoming recreation plans?
5. Have you encountered other difficulties in participating in OHV recreation due to a reduction in staffing and resources (difficulty securing permits for events, challenges in getting training for volunteers, etc).
This data will be vital in providing high quality recreation experiences. We greatly appreciate your assistance in this effort.
